空(kong)空道(dao)人(ren)听如此(ci)说,思忖半(ban)晌,将《石头记(ji)》再(zai)检(jian)阅(yue)一(yi)遍(bian),因见上(shang)面(mian)虽有些指奸责(ze)佞贬(bian)恶诛(zhu)邪(xie)之(zhi)语(yu),亦(yi)非伤时骂世(shi)之旨(zhi),及至君仁(ren)臣(chen)良父慈(ci)子孝,凡伦常所关之(zhi)处,皆(jie)是称功颂德,眷眷无穷,实(shi)非(fei)别书之可比.虽其中大旨谈(tan)情,亦不过实录其事,又(you)非假拟(ni)妄称,一味淫邀(yao)艳约(yue),私订偷盟之可(ke)比.因毫不干(gan)涉时世,方从头(tou)至尾抄(chao)录回(hui)来,问世传奇.从此空空道(dao)人因空见色,由色生情,传情入色(se),自色悟空(kong),遂(sui)易名(ming)为(wei)情僧,改(gai)《石头记》为《情僧录》.东(dong)鲁孔梅溪则(ze)题曰《风月(yue)宝鉴》.后因曹(cao)雪芹于悼(dao)红轩中披阅十载,增删(shan)五(wu)次,纂成(cheng)目录,分出章(zhang)回,则题(ti)曰《金陵(ling)十二(er)钗(chai)》.并(bing)题一(yi)绝云:
