夫(fu)祭之为物大矣,其兴(xing)物(wu)备矣,顺以(yi)备者(zhe)也,其教(jiao)之(zhi)本与(yu)?是故(gu),君(jun1)子之教 也,外(wai)则教之(zhi)以尊其(qi)君长,内则教之以孝于其亲。是(shi)故(gu),明君(jun1)在上(shang),则诸臣服从, 崇事宗庙社稷,则子(zi)孙顺孝(xiao)。尽其道,端(duan)其(qi)义,而教生焉。是故君(jun1)子之(zhi)事(shi)君也(ye), 必(bi)身(shen)行之,所不(bu)安于上,则不以(yi)使(shi)下;所(suo)恶于下,则不以事上;非(fei)诸人,行诸己(ji), 非(fei)教之道也。是故君子(zi)之教也,必(bi)由其(qi)本,顺之至(zhi)也,祭其是与?故曰:"祭者, 孝之本也已。"
