《诗》云:"瞻彼(bi)淇澳,侵疋(ya)⑩。有(you)斐(fei)君(jun1)子,如切如(ru)磋,如琢如磨。瑟兮兮,赫兮暄兮。有斐(fei)君子,终不可召猓""如(ru)切如磋"者,道(dao)学(xue)也。"如琢如(ru)磨"者,自修也。"瑟兮(xi)兮"者(zhe),恂(xun)也。"赫兮(xi)喧兮"者,威仪也。"有斐(fei)君子,终不可召"者(zhe),道盛德(de)至善(shan),民之不能忘(wang)也。《诗》云(yun):"于戏前王不忘!"君子贤其贤(xian)而亲(qin)其亲,小人乐其乐而利其利,此以没世不忘(wang)也。《康诰(gao)》曰:"克明(ming)德。"《大甲》曰:"顾(gu)天之(zhi)明(ming)命。"《帝典(dian)》曰:"克明(ming)峻德(de)。"皆(jie)自明也。汤之(zhi)《盘铭(ming)》曰:"苟日新(xin),日日新,又日新(xin)。"《康(kang)诰(gao)》曰:"作新民(min)。"《诗》曰:"周虽旧(jiu)邦,其命惟(wei)新。"是故君子(zi)无所(suo)不用其极(ji)。《诗》云(yun):"邦(bang)畿千里,惟民所止。"《诗》云:"缗(min)蛮(man)黄(huang)鸟(niao),止于丘隅(yu)。"子曰:"于止,知其所止。可(ke)以人而不(bu)如(ru)鸟乎(hu)?"《诗》云(yun):"穆穆文王,于缉熙敬止!"为(wei)人君,止(zhi)于仁;为人臣,止(zhi)于敬;为人子,止于孝;为人父,止于慈;与(yu)国人交(jiao),止于信(xin)。子曰:"听讼,吾犹(you)人也。必也使无(wu)讼(song)乎(hu)!"无情(qing)者不得尽其辞,大(da)畏民(min)志。此谓(wei)知本。
