古之欲明明德于天(tian)下(xia)者,先(xian)治其国。欲治其国(guo)者,先(xian)齐其(qi)家。欲(yu)齐(qi)其(qi)家者(zhe),先(xian)修其(qi)身。欲修其(qi)身者,先正其(qi)心。欲正其心者,先诚其意。欲诚(cheng)其(qi)意者,先(xian)致其(qi)知。致(zhi)知(zhi)在格物。物格(ge)而后(hou)知至(zhi),知至(zhi)而后意诚(cheng),意(yi)诚(cheng)而后心正,心正而后(hou)身修,身修而后(hou)家齐,家齐而后国治,国治而后天(tian)下平。自天子以至(zhi)于庶人,壹是皆以修身为本,其(qi)本乱而末治者否(fou)矣。其(qi)所厚者薄,而(er)其所薄(bao)者(zhe)厚(hou),未之有也(ye)。此谓知本,此谓(wei)知之至也。
